A Magic place :
The "Domaine le Vallon" is located 5 km away (3 miles) from Carpentras and 20 km away (11 miles) from Avignon, in the North-West of Provence. The domain is bordered with truffle trees, olive trees, rows of cypresses and plane trees. There is a magnificent view of the impressive "Mont Ventoux" and "Dentelles de Montmirail".
As in the entire Provencal region, you will find throughout the Vallon cultural relics of the past. In Carpentras, the ancient Episcopal capital, you will find a roman arch, a synagogue and the cathedral Saint-Siffrein. Within a 35 km range (20 miles), you will find several towns with incredible architectural and cultural richness. Orange, and also Saint-Remy-de-Provence, and of course Avignon. In this marvellous medieval town with its famous "Pont d'Avignon" and the "Cité des Papes" (City of the Popes), you will find numerous museums, some very charming squares and the XIVth century walls with no less than 39 towers and 7 doorways.
Are you a wine lover ? In this case, the "Domaine le Vallon" is the ideal base for you. You will find the famous vineyards of Gigondas, Vacqueras and Beaume de Venise. 15 km away (8 miles) is the village of Chateauneuf du Pape, home of the world famous wine.
