To reach this delightful little attic bedroom you’ll have to take the stairway to the second floor. This bedroom owes its name to a tree that is very common in Provence and which produces a nut that is equally prized in beauty products as it is in cooking. The room’s almond-coloured walls give the bedroom a particularly pleasant atmosphere in the morning. A gentle natural light enters the room, filtered by the branches of the plane trees growing outside the house. Exposed beams, three ‘bull’s eye’ windows and the terracotta tile floor lend the room a real Provençal charm and character. Roomy and intelligently laid out, the bedroom boasts a comfortable king size bed, which features a painstakingly-worked hemp headboard cover topped off with a red monogram. The other furnishings bring an uncommon charm to this room. Their originality and the craftsmanship of their makers are best appreciated during the day-time. Located at one corner end of the chateau, ‘Les Amandiers’ offers a magnificent panorama over the grounds and the vineyards of the Rhône Valley, which stretch into the distance as far as the eye can see.

The bathroom is its own haven of rest and relaxation: the call of the clawfoot bathtub is irresistible, especially during the evenings – why not relax and pamper body and mind as the sun is setting and the views are at their best? The large enclosed shower, large wash-hand basin and dressing table stacked high with Occitane en Provence body care products round off the bathroom.
